My yarn is all wound up and ready to go. I'm just waiting for opening ceremonies to start.

Hexipuff Madness 2014 - Week 4
This week, I completed 9 hexipuffs. Altogether, I have made 34 this year. This brings my grand total to 137. That's 13.1% of my goal.
I calculated that if I knit 3 a day, I would be complete by December 5th. Then maybe I could stitch it together during the holidays. I know, I said the same thing during the summer. But, this time it seems more realistic.
I will continue to take a picture of just the new ones, until my 2014 goal of 384 has been reached. Then I will add last year's hexipuffs.
So, in an effort to make more hexipuffs, I have entered the Modular Relay event in the Ravellenics games on Ravelry. I have decided to complete a whole skein's worth of hexipuffs, which are roughly about 40. In 17 days! Eeeeeek!
I've decided to use the Blue Violet colorway of Knit Picks Stroll Tonal Fingering weight yarn. This color forms the center "flower" in my pattern design. I figured it was about time I let the design dictate what color comes next.

Gearing up for Ravellenics
In just a few days, the 2014 Olympic Opening Ceremonies will be upon us. So, it is only right that I prepare for the Ravellenics Games. (It used to be called Ravelympics, but the Olympic Committee got a little upset, so the name was changed, and we still knit like maniacs)
So during these games, we set out to knit a certain item that we predesignate as an entry into the games. The main objective is to complete the item between the time of the start of Opening Ceremonies on the 7th and the Closing Ceremonies on the 23rd. This year, the moderator of the Knatural Purls group on Ravelry asked if I would like to be team captain. Of course I said yes!
In doing my duty, I had to set up the team, as well as encourage (enable) my fellow Knatural Purls comrades to compete in events. It didn't take much, because we are all cowl crazy.
My second order of business was to create a Team badge that would give us a visible presence. So, without further adieu, here is our Curly Girl. She doesn't have a name yet. I will let the Team vote on that. She is wearing our favorite color Very Berry (Malabrigo). She has curly hair because we all do, and she is very glam while she is rockin' her cowl that we all are addicted to making. She truly represents our group, and we love her in all her cuteness.

If you would like to join Knatural Purls, do not hesitate to do so on Ravelry. Tag your projects with the tag TeamKnaturalPurls2014 . We want to get as many winning team badges as we can.

Hexipuff Madness 2014 - Week 3
Last week, I completed 13 Hexipuffs. My apologies for the late post. I have been really busy this week. I started going to the gym more often, and putting in more hours in the office.
So, altogether I have completed 25 Hexipuffs for the year for the KAL.
This brings my total to 128, which is 12.24% of the total blanket.

Hexipuff Madness Monday - 2014 Week 2
I am back on my hexipuff kick. I recently joined the Hexipuff KAL on Instagram. The goal is to finish 384 hexipuffs by the end of the year.
I finished 5 last week, and 7 this week. This brings my total to 12 for the year, and 115 overall. I'm 10.99% to my goal.
Here is a cute little VIDEO I made of this week's hexipuffs.

Hexipuff Madness Monday - Weeks 15-17
These past 3 weeks have been crazy. There were some weeks that I have been able to churn out 3 hexipuffs. I decided to wait until I had a substantial amount to show, before posting.
There was one particular day that was the hottest day of the year. A group of my friends met up to knit in an air conditioned atrium. We laughed and joked like normal. However, everyone thought we were strange. People kept walking by and taking pictures. It felt odd to be the center of attention for these passers-by. The audacity of my girls to be knitting in 97 degree weather! Hmmmmmm, Mr. Bikram might not have had an issue. Hehe
I have one thing to say to our fans. "Winter is coming".
I completed 11 within the past 3 weeks. This is great, considering I have mastered how to knit hexipuffs and still carry on an intelligent conversation. This now brings my total to 95.

Hexipuff Madness Monday - Week 14
The color of the week was grey. I completed 9 pieces, and 1 leftover blue from last week. I am averaging about 10 a week, instead of my aggressive target of 35. Life just gets in the way. I did about 2-3 a day, then went out to dinner Thursday night, went to dance class Friday night, went to school and a party on Saturday, and woke up early for school again on Sunday. After class I crashed. My brain couldn't focus on knitting.
However, I have learned that setting aggressive goals and not meeting them isn't all that bad. As long as you are comfortable with the fact that you made more progress, than if you hadn't set a goal at all. In 4 weeks, I knit more hexipuffs than I did in the months before I went on my hiatus. That makes me smile. I also managed to maintain a 99.5 average in class.
So, here are my 81 hexipuffs. I have 2 tests next weekend. Hopefully, I can knit at least 10 this week.
