Here We Go Again!!!

I want to thank everyone for their sympathy in the loss of my vest-turned-skirt. I have started it again. The old sweater had 204 sts casted on, the new sweater has 172 stitches. I sure hope that this works. The big fat yarn cake is 150 grams of yarn. That is 3 skeins of Jaeger Baby Merino DK. Wish me luck!!!

good luck- and if all else fails, at least you get to fondle that yarn through it all.

You go girl! It'll knit up twice as fast this time around. (That's always how it is w/ my re-dos.) Waiting excitedly for the sopn to be FO. (Think positively :)

The yarn is beautiful! The previous post? Freakin' hilarious! But also gives me the chills as I contemplate my first sweater (it'll be the CPH).

To CarrieM, The CPH is a good pattern to follow, and has predictable results. Once you pick the right size, you should be good to go. Countless people have made it with many different yarns, and got positive results, so you should have no worries.

My main issue was that I used a different yarn and a different technique altogether.

I want to thank everyone for their nice and encouraging words. I promise, I will not let you down. I am proclaiming that this one will fit, or I will block the hell out of it. More updates tomorrow!!

I would lay odds that you will get it to fit, no aggressive blocking needed...........
I have seen proof of your knitty prowess and stick-to-it-ness.

Sorry about the laughing. I saw the first version and it reminded me of something in the deep dark recesses of my closet and the fact I cannot run from it--it will have to come out when I move whether I like it or not. I really should just frog it and rewind it, but it serves as an arrogance check for me when I think I am getting clever with textures and colors that I deep down know won't work!

204 stitches? 172 sounds much better.

Good luck. Measure again after 4"; if you need to make any changes, that's a good time to do so. But I doubt you'll have to. Knit On!
